Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Such a brilliant player on a free transfer. Inter agreed to tear up his contract last night. He'd be a great addition to any squad

Agreed , a possible replacement for Beckham ??

Now that's how you do business , sell Becks for £25 million and sign a guy like this on a free !!

but hes old isnt he? how would he be a good replacement for beckham? is he not a defender?

Old ? I think not , his date of birth is 15/11/74 , does that make him old ?

And no , he's not a defender perhaps you're thinking of Flavio Conceicao of Real Madrid who has apparently snubbed a move to Middlesbrough instead perfering to go to Germany , he's a Brazilian defensive midfielder !!

It seems now that Porto are desperately trying to bring him back to Portugal .

He wants to get his career back on track and claim a place in the Portugese Euro Champ squad for next summers tournament .

I think Inter paid €10 million for him 2 years ago !!

    Flavio Conceicao

Bingo. That who i though it was. Utd wouldnt be able to sign him cos Howard, Veron and Kleberson(soon enough) are all foreign and they can only have one more foreigner in the team so i rate they will be definitely signing someone TOP CLASS and probably an attacking midfielder and a defender before this summer is up. They need too anyway....DEFINITELY.

and they can only have one more foreigner in the team

I never heard of this rule for Premiership sides , the only problem United might have with non-EU players is getting work permits , after that there's no regulation as to how many non-EU players they can have in their squad .

This does apply to La Liga sides , only allowed 4 ( I think) non-EU players , correct me if I'm wrong .

Nuts your probably right. So premier league teams have no limit on foreigners but they have a limit of 4 in Europe and Real have no limit in the champos but can only have 4 in europe?

    thats it right?

A couple of years ago you were only allowed to have 3 non-EU players in the first eleven. The reason I know that is from playing Championship Manager but I'm nearly sure that rule is gone.

The rule in England is you can only have 3 in your match day squad (first 16 players) in spain the rule is you can only have 4 in your entire squad listed for the season (hence Barca selling Left, right and centre) but There is no rule in Europe (Champions League or whatever) because there is so meny Non-EU teams in UEFA it wouldnt make sense to try limit non-EU players.

Ah right. I knew it hadnt gone altogeather. So that means with Howard, kleberson and Veron...hold on, they were looking for Ronaldinho so what would they have done then? And then Fortune cant even be named as a sub? Djemba is Cameroonian too. So that means already we have 5 NON EU players in the Utd squad. How does that work?

Do united even realise they have Veron? I mean, if you guys will remember as soon as 3 years ago, before he signed for ManU - he was the super player, I dont know what they did to him, I realy dont - and now with so little places in their squad, and the talk of more coming in, with him not a usual starter (now that Keane is back fit) what are they going to do with him?

If I was a professional I would prefer to actualy play soccer, and get paid an insane amount of money, instead of just being paid an insane amount of money... but thats just me

As far as I know Howard has polish citizen ship, so he will have all the rights of an EU Citizen because Poland are joining in a few months.

United could do with a right winger now that Dave is gone. T'would be interesting to see how they did with out one, or will be interesting to see how they do without one.... providing they dont promote one of their miserable looking (remember Paul Scholes?) manchester youths...

I think Arsenal should look for him, they have f*** all money, and need a right winger more than usual now (Wiltord isn't a right winger, so shut up).
