    I e-mailed John Markey yesterday and got this reply back today - apologies if this has been posted but it seems quite significant.


    "The slow connection speeds are due to a global issue involving the backhaul of information between eircom and other operators. There is a resolution currently being put in place for this and this resolution will be completed before the end of the week. If you are still experiencing problems in a couple of days time call back in and we will look into it for you, however we don't believe that you will have to call at that stage.

    We're very sorry for any inconvenience you have suffered, but the problem will be resolved very soon."

    Sounds okay - obvious teething problems. I'll reserve any further judgement until the weekend.
