I have this problem here , i need to know how a mobile phone translates the key touches into text on the screen and i can't find it anywhere on google (due to a LOT of hits and severe time limitation :( ) Anyone know ? Please?

id imagine the same way a pc does?

key pads would have an irq channel for cpu time from the input device..

the cpu takes the data in from the I/O device..

then the control bus/data bus and arithmetic logic unit(which are 3 core components of processor start there work)

key pads would have a ascii code value..
depending on how many times there pressed

    A B C..

this is then converted in binary by processor
and from there sent onto function/program via data bus

thats job is to output data to the screen

u gonna go low level i guess u would want to see the code
