Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Just found this link on the soccergaming.tv site, quicktime clip showing some facial expressions of some of the unique players in the game.. Nice to see whose face they added (bottom right corner)

FIFA is a great title.... less of the FIFA bashing!!!!

    2004 looks pretty damn good!!

Do you work for EA? That's the only reason i can think of that someone would admit to liking Fifa. They are all absolute vomit and i guarantee you that this one will suck too.

Its not the fact that there all vomit, which i agree with, that pisses me off. Its the fact that they are all EXACTLY the same with maybe one single change between versions of the game. Sickening!

Ok I know people will Bash this game but it is due to be released here in Ireland tommorrow.

I haven't bought a Fifa game since Fifa 2001 for the PS2, I found This is Football better, but when I tried the second TIF I found very little difference between the 2.

I'm thinking of buying Fifa 2004. was just wondering if anyone here had played a demo?? and if so what they thought of it??

I personally don't like ISS I don't like the Gameplay

Irish1 i hadnt bought a FIFA game for a while but 2003 was ok but only for a rent, after 2 hours you will have mastered it and no team will even come close to you.
On hard winning 14-0 is a joke imo it looked nice but thats it it only looked nice and i was only playing it so i could be club teams.

I imagine 2004 will look better but still be ****e to play.
Try rent it 1st if possible.

I like the fifa series... IMO the atmosphere is a lot better than the other football games.
<Especially using a big TV and Surround sound>

but as KdjaC said it is a lot easier to score

PES is due to come out on the PC next month....until then ¬_¬

Ok so how long is ISS 3 out, is there a new one due out soon?

Is it really that much better than Fifa??

i look forward to FIFA 2004 anyway

ISS3 is out a few months and isnt that great. Pro Evo Soccer(PES) is set to own FIFA2004.

Anyone who has played PES on the playstation will understand.

The game quite simply is the greatest soccer line ever.

PES is much better gameplay the only reason why fifa sells is cos it has the offical names of players.

but for ppl who don't give a **** about the names and rely solely on how the game play PES cannot be beaten

If your playing it on the ps2, you can either edit the players yourself or use an x-port(google it)

Now that its coming to the pc, getting updates and patches will be easy.

The only reason FIFA sells is cause they stick 2004 in the title near xmas.

Same as record companies have been doing for years.

I think they started this around FIFA97(sometime in 96 id guess)

I remember playing fifa on the sega around 95/96

And playing International Superstar Soccer ( + Deluxe) on the snes circa 95/96

The Konami game owned fifa even back then

ROFL 2 Columbian Strikers pwned in that game ,my best score was 39-0 :D

I played FIFA solely for the names, ISS has the FIFpro licence so soon enough they will have access to all teams and players.
But for now its looks vs gameplay and ISS whoops ass.

Btw ISS3 is a very good game (i have GC so no PES yet)

IS there only one game in the Pro Evolution series ??

Is that not out now a long time

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,584 ✭✭✭✭Creamy Goodness

hahahah deluxe what a game true the columbians ruled in that game morillo was the guys name with the afro

    Its hard to explain really

As far as i know here goes.
    Game - Platform - Year

International Superstar Soccer - SNES -1994
    ISS Deluxe - SNES - 1995
    ISS PRO - PS1 - 1997
    ISS PRO 98 - PS1 - 1998
    ISS PRO EVOLUTION - PS1 - 2000
    ISS PRO EVO 2 - PS1 - 2001
    PRO Evo Soccer PS1/2 - 2002/2001
    PRO Evo Soccer PS1/2 - 2002
    Pro Evo Soccer 3 - PS2 - 2003

Now heres wheres things get techy, these games are all made by KONAMI, but there are two seperate divisions

    1) Konami Computer
    Entertainment Tokyo(KTYO)

    2) Konami Computer
    Entertainment Osaka(KOSA)

Now the Pro Evo series is mainly from KTY0, while the ISS series is made by KOSA

There are also two other recent games called

ISS2 and ISS3 which have appeared on all current formats, these games are generally akin to ADIDAS POWER SOCCER as in that they are very arcady. KOSA did however make some great soccer games on the n64.

    So in short

    ISS = arcade
    PES = simulation

I`ve played them all ,but my memory is usually lacking.

And yes kdjac, those 2 columbian lads(asprilla ??) were class, especially with valderama sitting behing them.
