Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

not sure if this is part of the "zero tolerance" the mods of the FS board are undeertaking lately but... they are locking some threads because someone posts twice into the forum (and here's the point) even if the items have nothing at all to do with eachother

take these two by Cyrus (one two) - one is a group computer bits the other split out as a pair of trainers

if stuff is so unrelated to eachother why not let it be split out* especially when a thread title is limited to such a short summary

sure, like-items should be grouped together but when they are so different... odd example but it happened! :)

*half expecting someone to reply 'because that's the rules'...

If you read the rules you would understand why its done that way! Its explains the reason very clearly and its just being fair to other posters... the fact that the items are related or unrelated does not have anything to do with it.

read the rules of course ;)... can completely understand you don't want 1 person with 10 things to create 10 threads

but, as that example bears out, as some items are significantly different (and they have even grouped their like items together in one thread) it pretty much hides the unrelated good(s)

like that person's trainers would hide at the bottom of a long list of computer parts - hidden to anyone you might be interested in them and likely not going to generate much interest with anyone who opened the thread looking for the parts...

the rule reads like it's geared to stop someone about to spam the board with many threads - fair enough and glad it's there - however, that person grouped all their like items together and just split out one that was (rightly) a seperate/original item

no reason to update your rule - just a bit of descretion when deciding what breaks the rule and warrants a lock / or to be let go

Zero tolerence and discretion do not go hand in hand... since the zero tolerence appraoch has been used.. there is very little muppetry occuring and very very few bans being applied at this stage.

If this approach is working and people are getting used to applying the spirit of the rules, then of course the moderation of the forums will lighten up... but it too early for that at this point.
