odd annoying transparent grey bar thing on screen

whenever i start up a game of vanilla bf, the usual little screens come up but when i enter the game after selecting spawn point etc, there's a little transparent grey bar thing near the top of the screen...like the bar that says "respawnin in 10secs" or whatever. this only started happening about a day ago. doesnt happen…

yea i uninstalled gc and it went away....annoying little <curses>
