I'll be there as long as I don't have work.

Wow, I am a self-imposed nevermore I guess. Maybe I'll come out of nevermore-ness for next year but who knows. I have my reasons.

Did that actually happen? Cos I read in the paper the other day about this mob of about 100 people who went into a shoe shop in Dublin chanting "we like cheese".

I'll be there, most likely. Have to have some nevermore solidarity going. And also, what else am i gonna do on a saturday? Apart from the usual hijinks, of course.

yes sponge it really happened and the idea was borne out of that boards thread :)

Yes YES! I'll be there, with pants this time. It'll be nice if everyone comes.

Richard - Some guy told me on IRC to tell you that he hates you at the reunion. But I can't remember who it was. He said that he'd known you his whole life. I'll check the logs when I get home.

    /me keels over from tiredness

    /me picks himself up

/me listens to police scanner. what good fun.

Right, I'm bringing a sign to the reunion. It'll read as follows: Nevermores this way. We can hug eachother and leave the newbies and the semis alone. We can reminisce and stuff. We can feel sorry for ourselves, or just have fun together. Cos we all know CTYI will never be the same without us. Never.

And we all have to do that flash mob thing! Seriously, we have to. Did ya read the one with the bananas? When the instructions were to eat a banana and leave! Priceless. I say we do one, drink a bottle of Jolt each and leave.

    To get more.

Who are you talking about? Why does someone hate me at the reunion, and does that mean that they don't hate me in other places?

Hands up all those who actually have worn a ninja mask and had a large audience see it. Other than Macdara. And me. We were super disco ninjas.

*puts hand up proudly* i did. cept i looked like a muslim bride so i'm told. ah well. such is life.
(p.s. my discojesus beats your super disco ninja. ohhh...yes)

    ANYHOO....

reunion thing right, i was thinking (i say *I*, other people were thinking now i'll take credit for the idea), does anyone have a free house or whatnot saturday night that we could have a shindig in. or know of someone from ctyi who's allowed **** up their house.
or has a shed or something. anything. please.
cos much as the whole ninja thing is a great idea, i know i'd much rather a big drunken house party myself.

Drunken house party?! What age are you?!!

Anyways... I think I might actually go to this reunion. It's been a very long time since I've been to one.

Getting 50 people to a reunion was no bother back in the day. Ah I remember it well. *reminises* Anyone remember huddling under a tree in a thunderstorm in Stephen's Green? :p Definately Talented Youth!!!

Nah, best moment ever was when 15 or so of us were escorted from the green (ie chucked out) last year

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 250 ✭✭Plasticman

That happens all the time. It's hardly a memorable experience being kicked off steven's green, the wardens are pricks. They tried to fine me 75 euro for playing guitar. I ran like hell of course, so i didn't pay, but the point is they're assholes.

i think i'll be making an appearance in town on the 30th, and i'd better get lots of hugs.

    i mean it!

    16. *looks around innocently*. when i say drunken house party, i mean everyone else is drunk and i'm there laughing merrily. cos you can't get me drunk. oh no. liver on overdrive here.

but anyway yeah, party?? venue?? ideas??

    /me looks up IRC logs

It was Ranger. He told me to tell you at the reunion that he hates/loves you.

    hey everyone,

im goin to the reunion to get back to the point slightly!!

i agree wit lisa except for the drunken bit, does anyone in dublin have a free house or sound parents who wouldnt mind a 20+ invasion??

somebody for the love of CTYI offer your house to us

    C u all there

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 168 ✭✭Peterfing

Nobody offered us a house, damn them all.
Oh well, so, who enjoyed the reunion. It beat the pants of the Cork one I'm sorry to say, well, most of it, and are there any takers for another one sometime soon. I've heard suggestions of the midterm break? Either that or Christmas.
But anyway, did everyone have fun at the Dublin reunion and did anything particularly amazing happen that everyone should know about?

'Twas great. Not sure how many people showed up, it was a Hell of a lot though. And loads of people who I hadn't seen in five weeks showed up. YAY! And loads of people who I didn't know prior to it I know now. Hurrah!

twas a great reunion. soooo many came. at least 70+
they should have a 'boarding school Ctyi' that would be class.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 849 ✭✭✭Liquorice

Ana and I were dicussing a CTYI boarding school a few weeks ago, it involved CTYI buying some of the DCU campus, and renting some of the residential apartments out to teneants to raise some money, and then there would be Government grants. But, honestly, like that's going to happen. And, staying on topic, it was a class reunion, what with the wedding, feeble orgy attempt, seeing people who I hadn't seen in ages, and won't see for ages, and, I suppose, almost everything else.

Myself, Hugh Macdara and a bunch of others retired to the Ivy Gardens for ghey secks and other questionable activities. And there was the getting to knowage of people i did not get to know at teh actual course.

We talked about that many many years ago.

It's still not gonna happen and even if it did it probably would suck and make ctyi unfun and turn it into we hate school/ctyi. etc etc

heh, took ****ing ages to say goodbye to you lot. any longer and myself and Jen would've missed the movie....but wait, then i would've had an extra 12 euro.....damnit!

Yesterday was a fab day a huge turnout etc. Just wanted to say, all of you who couldnt make it, you know who you all are, and we certainly do, we missed you all!!!! :)

It was pretty cool yesterday. I sort of disappeared during the questionable activities because I had to be home by 5 but it was still great. I got to see some people from the boards and some of my old friends from back in 2002 and for the first time ever sat in a bagel shop.

So, did anybody get any good pictures of the reonion? Especially the wedding. That was ninja-rific.

Despite the fact that only one ninja was present. I was the bridesmaid, simply because I had a slip. Steven was meant to be the priest, he gave the job to Hugh, we couldn't get Hugh's attention so Sven performed the ceremony. It was touching...
