    Could some varient of this be used to stop spam? Especially spam bots.

    No, just sufering from the air conditioning ;):p

    What I mean is restrict peoples abilty to put in links until they have a certain number of posts / or have been registered for a certain time or some other criteria.

    I don't seem to have any applications that can read .bmp files. What exactly did you attach?

    It doesn't sound like a spam deterrent.
