Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Oppps. Indeed they do, and I reckon they'll go down with Wolves staying up.

Havent came up with my league table yet but a few points to make.

    1. The poster who said Kleberson and Djemba Djemba will be be the best PL partnership, a bit premature you think?
    1. they havent even played together yet.
    2. they'll have to adjust
As of yets Mancs still havent bought a world class def to play alongside Ferdinand.
Van Nist gets injured they won't be the same.

all this talk about players gelling at CFC is a bit silly they are all PL based players and the whole thing about needing a ball winner is open to debate I think Newcy did pretty well with Jenas and Dyer and they aren't exactly ball winners but Geremi can do that job pretty effective, Still need a Hughsie target man though.

Newcy have great attacking flair but are prone to def lapses and like Utd as of yet havent bought a def to play alongaside Woodgate.

Pool have got width but Kewell isn't even being playing in his correct pos, also I feel they need someone to take the work off Gerrard does far too much.

don't write of the Gooners if they can hold on to Viera they'll be up there again.

    Top 6:
    1: Liverpool/Manutd
    2: Liverpool/Manutd
    3: Arsenal
    4: Chelsea
    5: Newcastle
    6: Blackburn/Everton/Spurs

As you can see, I think it's a toss up between 'pool and ManU.
i'd like to see 'pool do it, but you can never write off Utd.
Arsenal are looking shaky, Wenger is losing it a bit I reckon - too many seasons underachieving.
Chelsea won't win this year (too many new players), but will definitly be contenders next year.

    Bottom 3:
    18:Birmingham/Bolton
    19:Leceister
    20:Portsmouth

Portsmouth and Leceister had better enjoy every moment of PL football this season cause they aint going to be around this time next year.

As Arsene will tell you they have won three of the last four major domestic trophies. I don't think they have underachieved - plus they still have a very strong squad (although the goalkeeper looks quite dodgy).

    At the end of 2004
    Top 3:
Chelsea, Liverpool, Newcastle (don't know the order)
    Bottom 3:
    Notts. Forest, Leeds, Bolton

Digging a hole here, but what I meant was - Wenger has underachieved, he hasn't done well in Europe, is still in (and always will be in) Fergusons shadow and he let the PL title slip away to Utd last season when he should have won it. Then yesterday after losing the Community Shield he was rather the sore loser saying the shield was a worthless trophy anyway.
I just think that he's been in Ferguson's shadow for too long and he's getting fustrated.

Villa to finish in top 7

    1st Arsenal
    2nd Man U
    3rd Chelsea
    4th Newcastle
    5th Liverpool
    6th Everton
    7th Villa

I reckon Pool dont have a chance of winning it. Ever year, people think they will do it. They won't. Be realistic.

    I'd have to go for:

    Top 3
    Man Utd/Arsenal/Chelsea

    Bottom 3
    Charlton/Wolves/Fulham

From looking through the rest of the posts, every1 [including me] bar 1 person believes that Chelsea win the title this year ... & being sceptical, I personally don't believe that you can buy the title!

I'd be lying through my ass if I said I wasn't jealous of Chelsea's spending power ... But I believe that if 1 of the players doesn't perform from the off .... P45 in the post & a transfer into obscurity!! .... That's far too much pressure to be under!!

IMO The main reason that Utd & Arsenal have been so dominant in the Premiership is because they bought prudently & distilled a belief in team spirit from the start!!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 743 ✭✭✭UbahOne

Im sure Chelsea know that team spirit is the key.

As for buying the title, it can be done. You have to be someone who knows their stuff though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,951 ✭✭✭✭Villain

a lot of people reckon Mr Walker bought the title for the Blackburn the time they won it.

Ill tell you who to look at, and this is the only team you can look at....its Real Madrid.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,414 ✭✭✭LoneGunM@n

True ... but no-one else has ever done it ... and a lot of teams have tried!!

I wouldn't mind seeing Chelsea winning the league ... it'll be good for the premiership for a new face to win it ... but I'm sceptical ... We'll all know next May.

I think UbahOne's Prediction of Liverpool in the bottom three is more wishfull thinking than reality, but at least we can dream.

oh god, do you people still think Fulham will finish bottom 3? Not a chance.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 88,972 ✭✭✭✭mike65

I agree Fulham looks the business, they've had good players for a few seasons now but I don't think anyone thought Coleman would be able to stitch together a side that could win week in, week out. It will proberly go horribly wrong at some point but they won't go down...

    Mike.

Agreed. When Tigana was fired and Coleman hired, i didn't think he'd do a good a job as he did in the last 5 games of the season. He really has brought back in something Tigana hasn't, team spirit.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,398 ✭✭✭the fnj

The players at the club really love Coleman, so he is able to get the best out of them and he has instilled a bit of steel in the team. Fulham have always had good players but they lacked fight, especially against smaller teams but now they go out and fight every game and it’s made a huge difference to the team. The squad is still far too small but there are some good youngsters coming through and I think now players will sign during the January transfer window.

Demeant0r it’s good to see another Fulham fan on the forum I think that makes two, a few more and we can start spamming and trolling with the Celtic, Liverpool, United and Arsenal muppets. ;)

 before the start of the season i thought fulham would finish in the bottom 3. i stand corrected. they did very well to take 3 points away from old trafford and if they keep up their run they might just get a UEFA spot.
