post your ways of tweaking Xp to get the most performance
post links to programs you use to make Xp look cool.
post links on how to get rid of annoying stuff in XP (Eg. Windows Messenger)

i don't know how to get the ball rolling maybe some1 else will.

    How about this site.....

    http://www.tweakxp.com/

this site just about covers any tweak you want , if you don't know where to go just search the site for your particular tweak eg. messenger and a list of available tweaks for it will be displayed.

Can come in handy just after a complete reformat to strip XP of its gunk.

    :)

Sorry but XP is a load of rubbish. I had problems with it. Had my Keycode, tried to format it. Wouldn't let me reuse the keycode.

Rang Customer services and they couldn't help me either. So I used my friends computer. setup my HD as a slave to his and had to use FDisk in MS-DOS to format it. Then copy and paste his HD onto mine except for one file and Voilà. Now my computer works like a charm.

    Hail MS-DOS

A lot of useful stuff at http://www.blackviper.com/WinXP/winxp.htm

Especially the Services Configuration Page so that you can slim things down by preventing the unnecessay ones.

I used to hate XP (and still find the activations stuff a pain in the butt) but as time has gone by I use it more and more - well almost exclusively in fact.

Sorry but XP is a load of rubbish.

I see that your opinion of WindowsXP is based on the fact that you had insufficient knowledge to fix the problem without having to take out the hard drive and format it in another computer.
