everquest question.

Just starting out in everquest and was wondering what type of charcter to play as i would be a newbie. I was thinking a long the lines of a dwarf warrior or human warrior.Any idears would be great.

I'm amazed that EQ is still getting recruits!.:).
I gave up a few years ago but I'll try and help.
If you like to be in demand for groups choose healer or even That Dwarf fighter.
Also find out what server you want to join..some are much more mature than others.
Whats the age of the youngest server btw?.
And if you dont want to stay up all night choose the European server..(there is one now isnt there?) for events at a respectable time.

In the sense that it is addictive.

Think about how addictive these games will be in the future when the technology will exist to make them vastly more immersive.

If I was on that Enterprise, DataIsGod, I'm tellin' ya - I would never leave that holodeck. I would be in there abusing myself 24 hours a day. Why doesn't star trek do an episode about that? Eh?

with regards to star trek perhaps you could post it in the forum, for a quick answer check out quarks bar on deep space nine where you can take part in a nice holodeck program called vulcan love slave with various parts.

Haha! Well I suppose the star trek nerds musn't be a bad bunch now considering your reply was in such good humour!
During my reflection on this I have come to the worrying realisation that I probably know more about star trek than the average person. I have seen and enjoyed many of the original and next generation series, and probably all of the films at one time or another. I even know stuff like some star trek fans are called "trekkies" and others are "trekkers" and that one group is considered more nerdy by the other group!
I find myself now struggling to differentiate myself from a star-trek fan. Perhaps my knowledge of star trek is just a case of "knowing thine enemy". Ah, sod it ... maybe I will pop over to the star trek forum some day to "come out".

Oh, vaguely getting back on topic - seriously lads - if these games are so consuming nowadays (there are tales of people leaving the mortgage go unpaid, losing their jobs, their family, everything... while they play these MMORPGs, too immersed in them to bother caring about their life outside of their virtual world) can you imagine what they will be like in ten years time when graphics cards will probably be able to render fluid images in real-time that are indistinguishable from the real thing, and there will probably be all sorts of hardware that are common-place like virtual-reality helmets that produce 3D visuals and aural effects. Maybe there will even be common-place hardware for producing smells and touch (personally I can't wait for the USB2 version of the groinal attachment). It doesn't seem like much of a step from all that to something approaching a "holodeck". Seriously - would you ever come out if you could indulge all of your fantasies and desires in there and all that was waiting for you outside was depressing old real-reality?

By the way, I was looking for some of this vulcan porn that you mentioned, DataIsGod, and I found a few things that seemed to be describing a game and this bar in it and what attractions this guy that runs the bar in the game has. It mentioned this exotic vulcan yolkie alright, but there was no pictures. Can you provide links please to some of this hardcore alien filth?

Getting back on topic to answer the original question, if you are going to go down the warrior path, I would suggest going ogre or troll due to the slam ability and the massive amounts of extra HP you will have.
