Netscape weirdness....

Using Netscape happily for many years... most recent version was Netscape7.0... so yesterday it prompted me to update to 7.1 and I d/led the update and ran it and installed it, restarted computer and......

    NOTHING!

    Heh... Netscape is dead!

None of the shortcuts work, netscape.exe won't open.

So I reverted back to previous version... which worked perfectly :)
Then redownloaded Netscape7.1 just in case I'd got a faulty file or something... installed it... and again...

    NOTHING!

Now it won't let me revert back to prev version so I'm using IE.

Anyone else having problems like this... or anyone got any suggestions?

    lol @ Balfa

em Rancid, use the uninstall for netscape, if it's not there go into the netscape directory and try to find it, failing that go to control panel add/remove, remove netscape, remove anything that might be left in the folder on the drive it was installed on. reinstall version 7, reboot. if that does't work, get mozilla :)

    Nothing happens!
I click on the quick-launch icon and nothing happens. I double-click netscp.exe in the Netscape folder where it's installed and nothing happens. I right click on it and choose Open and nothing happens.
    I've scanned it with Norton.
I've uninstalled totally and removed every Netscape-ish thing.
    I've reinstalled.
I've uninstalled again and removed everything.
I've reinstalled in a different DRIVE in the hope that that might somehow work.
And when I try to start it... NOTHING keeps happening!

Hmm... when I try to install Netscape7, this is what happens:
    NetscapeProb.JPG

    So I downloaded Mozilla. :)
Installed it and when I click on the icon.... NOTHING happens.

    Yes, I've scanned with an up-to-date Norton's...
    Yes, I've restarted the computer...
Yes, I've started to go crazy...

Right now I'm very reluctantly using IE

True true... I can't begin to understand what's going on...
2 weeks ago Netscape suddenly and unexpectedly *LOST* all my bookmarks... so, with the benefit of hindsight.. I guess there was a problem brewing?

    Oh well... OPERA is good!
I can't live without tabbed browsing!:)
