quite a good add that love the :in disbelive voice: 'I got fraged'

Just a simple question really.. So when the 64 bit processors come out will production of on 32bit proccessors from AMD decrease alot and will the 64 bits just take over say as the p4 takes over the p3.. ye get me? Or will they continue just as strong in production with the 32bit etc and run them side by side on the market? Also is it best to wait for one? or does it really matter?

    What are you implying anyway?

    Was just being smart.

I was always under the impression that the Opteron would not dramatically improve the performance of existing 32 bit software. Would it be corrrect to presume that it will offer similar improvements to those offered by the the P4 with Hyper-Threading, i.e. between 5 and 10%.

Surely the true benefit of the Opteron will not be witnessed until the majority of sofware houses begin to develop 64 bit software. At that, would it not be better to stick with existing, cheaper 32 bit processors as they will offer the most bang for buck value?

Sounds like a pretty nice combo :) , gotta love them bartons!! I think i will be doing the exact same, have an Xp3000+ (overclocked) , 2x256mb pc4000 ram, and a curently wonky Ti4200 (should be sorted soon)

Which card i dont know but will be between Fx5800/5900ultra and 9700/9800pro. Fx5800 - watercooled probably - i know about the noise issue .

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but doom3 has been put back to 2004 - im not that concerned about it, but i hope to christ HL2 wont slip ( it's lookin dodgy ) ultimately its up to VU games when it gets released,it would look bad for them if they published a bugged to fcuk game,we'll have to wait and see.

I have a 64gf ultra and it seems to run battle field 1942 perfectly on my 2500+ with 512 ram and ata 133 7200 h/d.

    Should this be correct ?
