Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Wolves in my book will get less points than Sunderland last year, they are appauling and have Utd liveon sky on Wenesday Nite KO at 8pm.

It should be a good chance for Fergie to unleash Ronaldo. Should be a goal feast and goal diff will improve anyway. I think they brought in too many players and no quality at all. all cheapos with some ability.

I took a bet with a bookmaker mate of mine for them to get the record lowest points tally in premeirship history and its looking very good indeed. 10 to 1 was the odds for those interested!

Poor ole Irwin and Incy will be in for a busy night.
I dont believe in counting the chickens but wolves will have to improve beyond recognition to get anything from the game.

Well it will 3 more points regardless! Odds on Van the man for hat trick or better may be interesting!

Odds for a hatrick for van against wolves probably no better than Evens unlesss you know a Bookmaker who likes giving his dosh away.:D

Man Utd V Wolves = :( for me.

They have been wretched and completly at sea at the back. Its really depressing for a fan and someone who thinks its great to see a really traditional powerhouse make it back into the top flight. The players will have to wake up and the cluib will have to spend in January. Jack Hayward has said he's not willing to spend more of his own money but if they are to have a chance he'll have to throw caution to the wind....

After wednesday i wish wolves the best. They were the first team i supported back in the early 70s. All i can remember of them is Derek Dougan and the keeper was good as well back then. I was only 6 at the time and i was converted .

They've signed ex Middlesboro man Emerson.

Whats he like? I never took any notice of 'boro!

You really do have to feel sorry for them even the likes of Charlton are too strong for them. I think they're in for a LONG season. My prediction for wednesdays match - Man U 4 - 0 Wolves

He's an anchor type of player. He played fairly well for 'Boro.

[edit] Oh yes forgot to predict the result. I think it will be 7-0 to United. Honestly, Wolves just aren't good enough and will be overawed by the occasion. [/edit]

Yes of course they'll be overawed by being on the same pitch as the Galactic Lords of Football, Manchester United  Don't get me wrong, Wolves are going to get creamed, and it probably will be 7-0 or so, but try to keep your feet on the ground

Wolves will be the whipping boys this season,i can see them spending the whole season in the bottem three.

I think it could be a malling. United look sharp and Molves look poor. I would like for Wolves to stay up but they need some serious changes. I reckon 5-0 for Man U with Ronaldo to get his first goal for the club.

    Looking at the odds

7-1 draw is a good bet.

Wolves will try shut up shop and hope they can weather the typhoon.

    Failing that an accumulator
on 4-0 win for Utd with both scholes and Van Nist scoring is
    10-1

I fully expect Utd to win, but there is no such thing as a guarenteed win.

True but on current form the exception being if wolves are the opposition:D

utd i dont think will hammer them, wolves are a decent side when their on form although away from home i'd still expect them to lose.

this will test utd to see if they can be consistent and beat the wee boys along with the big boys. if utd get an early goal, within 10 mins, it'll probably be 5-0 or something. but if wolves manage to hang on 'til half time they could come away with a point or lose by a single goal.

kleberson will surely start along with ronaldo. barthez might even get a game.

If barthez starts well probaly draw. I think kleberson is starting i hope he gives ronaldo his first start aswell and djemba in the middle with maybe bellion in there aswell

I meant by playing in front of 67,000 United fans. They call it the Theatre of Dreams for a reason.

10-1 for a correct score is fairly crap throwing in naming both scorers its a bad bet.

Or maybe not. United score on ten minutes and so far not much else. No goals from Van Nistelrooy either.

BTW Pornapster, you should have a peek back through history and see where The title "Theatre of Dreams" in relation to OT came from.

Well its basically a whole new midfield. It will take them time to gel.

They didn't play anyway near their best tonight and the fact they still won pleases me but Ronaldo is incredibly skillful...we see that but i think he tends to want the centre stage to live up to the expectations the media have already made him to be...he will be fine though, Keane and Van Nistelrooy will sort him out and make him release the ball...hes my age for ****s sake. He has loads to learn.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,064 ✭✭✭BKtje

hes my age for ****s sake
HE IS NOT 12 FFS! ;)

    (sorry couldnt resist)

    OT:
The midfield was almost none existant tonight. Both Djemba and Kleberson gave a fair few balls away tho i think this also had to do with the 5 man midfield that they were facing. Neither Solskjaer or Ronaldo tracked back to help them all that much.
I had to agree with Andy Gray and i felt sorry for them.
