Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The Consumers Association has warned consumers to "shop around" after a survey by The Sunday Business Post revealed widespread mark ups by the Irish outlets of British retail chains.

Random surveys in British retail chain outlets around Dublin found that Irish consumers are being charged up to 40 per cent more than British consumers for certain electrical goods; up to 23 per cent more for clothing and accessories; up to 60 per cent more for DVDs and up to 40 per cent more for household furniture.
Alot more in the actual article. More evidence of Rip Off Ireland.

I see a Dixons rep confirmed Dermot Jewell's assertion that the retailers will set prices as high as the market can bear:
Bryan Magrath of Dixons, said the company "sets prices in Ireland against the market and takes no account of pricing in the UK".

Nice one Brian. When you have a comment to make about something like this and you want to squirm out of it you don't say that. You should lie and mumble: ".. very competitive... higher costs... doing the best we can." Not something akin to "we're not really competitive and interested in selling low, we set our prices based on what we can get away with"

Comforting, isn't it? One of the reasons I don't shop in Dixons....
