    I know Accrington were in the original division 1. Whether or not they stayed up 40 odd years and never won a title, but came close, I'm not sure of. But I'll guess Accrington.

    As far as I can remember the paper that originally sponsored thr Tour de France was printed on yellow paper so they decided that the leader should wear a yellow jersey. No idea about the other two, unless they just copied the French.

    Huge apologies for not acknowledging the 'Who would have won the League if goal difference and not goal average had been used to separate tied teams' question. Was too busy over the past two weeks for such frivolity as message boarding.

    It was of course Cardiff City, but note that if it were three points for a win at that time, they wouldn't have won it anyway. (golden anorak welded to my back)

    BTW who was the guy who played in all the derbies? We never got an answer for that. My guess would have been Peter Reid or Trevor Steven.
