Read the reasons for it.

By releasing it to a minority first, they will find a lot of the bugs first. They then move a step up with the Linux version.

The Q3a test that the majority (Win32) will get will have a lot less bugs and problems than the Mac version.

The site was forced to remove the demo this morning, so any1 who didn't ,it's a shame as I'm told by a few friends who did get it, its gonna br amazing when they work out the bugs!

I have found a version for the PC version with DM support Its still up but I forgot the url's Try http://www.shugashack.com/ and look on the Quake 3 board there is a good bit of downloading in it. (I'm stuck with a s**t 56k winmodem so it might be faster for someone else out there) There is about four different file to download. Hope ye can find it. I'll post the proper urls when I get home

First download the following:
* Quake3.zip IHV ftp.mimuw.edu.pl/People/ser/quake3.zip

* _If_ IHV doesn't work: mess with your opengl stuff. I copied the opengl.dll from my windows/system dir and that did it for me. There's also a afix.zip.

* win32server.zip from id'sftp

* conv.bsp http://hem2.passagen.se/as400man/conv.zip

Then do this:

* unzip quake3.zip into C:/Quake3

* unzip afix.zip intoC:/Quake3

* unzip the pak0.pk3 from the win32server.zip into a temporary dir

* rename pak0.pk3 to pak0.zip and unzip it into C:/Quake3/baseq3

* put conv.bsp in your C:/Quake3/baseq3/maps dir

* start quake3.exe

* type map conv
That's it, hf
Try this when it doesnt work for voodoo2's en banshee's

copy the file to /quake3/ dir and to /windows/system/

NEW => Install this file if u want the sky in conv.bsp and the yellow armor (and other shadings) to be fixed!!! (http://home.mpinet.net/bswill/quake3/shaders.zip)
