most of the things that are imported are bikes that werent released over here
jp motorcycles in pierce street and bikeantics in balgriffin are the main importers over here
they specialise in things like hornet250s cbr250's cb400s etc
what are u lookin at gettin, the above tend to fetch insane prices, generally a lot higher than officially imported rivals

Actually, most bike shops tend to dabble in the grey-import market..

If the bike model is officially sold in Ireland through the official traders, it's called a parallel import. If the bike model is not sold in the country, it's a grey import.

Gorey Bikes Ltd. (in Gorey) is one of the larger importers. They stopped selling to the public some time ago, but looking at their website, they may have started again.. Their website

Others: Bray Honda Centre, RedLine in Rathdrum... RedLine is a good few miles out of Dublin, but they get my heartiest endorsement.

Yes, Grey imports tend to be a good bit cheaper (but also expect to earn less for them, when you go to sell them on).. Not much to watch out for, as long as it gets a decent service before it's sold to you.. Some rumours of tyre degredation in containers while being transported from Japan, but I wouldn't pay too much heed to it..

Make sure the headlights are pointed the right way (they would point to the RHS of the road in Japan)..

Any more questions, fire them on...

also most places are sellin hornet 250's for about 6000 for a 99 and cbrs for about the same if slightly less
this is certainly not cheaper, u can pick up a same age 1000 as u can get a 250 import if u look around

We're assuming he's stuck with the 33bhp rule.

well, if you need 33bhp then go for restricted bandit 600.

CBR250 will not be cheap for insurance

Oops.. You're right of course.. Getting my European parallels mixed up with my grey imports... ;-)

    This site might prove useful.
