Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Barcelona have kicked off their season with a 1-0 win over Bilbao. Didn't see any of the game myself, but apparently Giovanni van Bronckhorst made a very impressive debut.
Cocu got the only goal after 12 minutes in what turned out to be a close game.
If Barcelona can grind out preformances like this all season I cant see why they shouldnt be up there challenging for the title. They have the talent, hopefully Rijkaard has the managerial skills to lead the team.

They have talent but i cant see them challenging for the title there not that good.

If they want to win they will have to beat teams like Madrid,Valencia and Deportivo which theyll find very hard

Kmart6 i agree, they will have to toughen up to get champions league place, there is four or five teams in that battle!

i've had a look at the BBC Sport website and saw this

    Barcelona v Sevilla 23:05

i presume the times on the BBC website are BST meaning 12.05am in Spain. can't find any reason for it yet

It's against Sevilla and they want it at this time so their international players will be elligible for the match.

I think they are that good.
And it can be said that Depor, Real and Valencia will find it just as hard to beat Barcelona.
Last year was a real bogey season, but they fought towards the end and managed Uefa spot. In the end they were only 9 or so points off a CL spot. If Rijkaard can get the team to gel they will be there or there abouts at the end of the season.

All seen through rose tinted glasses of course.

No chance, whay ever about beating Depor OR Valencia they'll never beat Madrid.

They were lucky to get a UEFA cup place they only got it on the last day of the season and at that i think they needed another team to lose.

There a club that have huge debts .

They couldnt afford Ronaldiniho and buying him put them in more debt.

He only joined Barca for the night life not the football.

Why do you think he chose UEFA cup over Champions League???

You seem to think Real Madrid are an unbeatable force.
They're not. Don't think Barcelona can't beat them because they can.
Wtf have debts got to do with on pitch form?

Never said the were unbeatable just sais Barca wont beat them which is true.

With the amount of debts they have they easily fall into liquidation which would more than likely release many players from their contracts
