A james Beattie goal with two minutes to go saw Man U drop three points so early in the season.

With Forlan playin how were they supposed to win hes a complete waste of space

i remember a time when Manchester United supporters were praising him. it was about the time he started scoring goals

Howard had a good game. United did not create enough. Southampton were solid and overall deserved something out of the game. I agree Forlan is not up to it . Another poor performance and this time nothing to show for it:(

Yeh some people thought that he was brilliant just cause he scored two goals against Liverpool which were both thanks to Dudek.

Its just like Ronaldo after the Bolten game everyone was sayin that hes going to be the best player on the team from now on but he was pure s**t against Wolves

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,386 ✭✭✭smuckers

Kleberson has after dislocating his shoulder which makes the day even worse for The Utd supporters, I don't understand why he was playing out of position though?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,386 ✭✭✭smuckers

Ronaldo needs time and I think Utd fans will have to realise he is only 19 but his Kieron Dyeresque step overs are becoming far too frequent.

Did not see the match, but its was perfect timing. Should bring a few United supporters heads out of the clouds for a while.

Yeh your right he is only 19 and does need time to mature into a great young footballer.

He needs to learn to pass the ball more and stop the fancy stuff with the ball.

Forlan sank the pool and he does the same trick against chelsea. He always looks eager but maybe not the finished article??

Le Saux cross for beattie to score.

    which was nice

heh seems like ronaldo isn't quite the god that every single united fan thought he was after 30 minutes of playing

The excuses are coming out of The Utd camp Phil Neville says the pitch was dry and thats why Utd lost no Phil its because you didn't play well at all why can't you just admit that?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,503 ✭✭✭Makaveli

They always come up with great excuses when they lose to the Saints.
"Eh we couldn't see each other."

G'wan the Saints! (I'd like to see Strachen at Anfield myself, wont ever happen I know)

    Mike.

Didn't see the game today, good result for the Saints. I dont think Jumbo-Jumbo will last too long at Old Trafford. He is absolute rubbish. As for Pleberson, he does a pretty good invisible man impression. Fake Ronaldo needs to be told to ease off on the skillz, but he will become a good player imo. Did Keano play at the back again ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,386 ✭✭✭smuckers

I have to say Phillips was absolute class today as was Beattie.

And a third win on the bounce for the mighty Sunderland!!!

    Way to go Mick!!!!!!

What's the record for the number of straight WINS on the trot in any division of the league?

I well remember mid week somebody was saying, trust me, if Wolves pulled level United would have gone up a gear. All the gear shifting ya wanted would not have made a difference to that dismal performance. Waiting for the, midfield changes, RVNs hair was in his face excuses from the United fans.

Fair play to muppet btw, can take it nearly as well as he doles it out.

Ya still managed to find something good about it though, just like everybody else does when thier team loses. And judging by yesterdays performance, I can see it happening alot more often.

Chelsea are class makele today kids

I thought howard played well ,did you not?

Utd have had 2 poor performances in a row . Yesterday they lost their first match since boxing day last year. Maybe they will lose more whos to know only time will tell but i wouln,t be too concerned at this stage of the season. Remember Last Year:D

Southampton were superb all over the pitch yesterday. Especially in defence, they held Diego and Ruud to long range shots that Jones could deal with. They deserved their win.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 27,349 ✭✭✭✭super_furry

Dare I say it – I thought Man U missed Beckham yesterday. The service into the box from wide positions and their general passing was pretty poor. I also reckon that Van Nistelrooy is better of playing on his own up front (with someone in behind him) than alongside Forlan, how offers absolutely nothing.

Oooh, I must have gotten the wrong end of the stick or maybe I was watching the wrong game because I saw the Man U Southampton game and Man U were very poor.

How come when liverpool lose and the opposition play well Man U fans say that Liverpool were crap but when United lose their fans reckon it was only because the opposition played very well and has nothing to do with United's frailties. ???

I don't post in Liverpool threads because they are almost as boring as watching their football matches.

United didn't play their best, between injuries and new players being blooded this is understandable.

Southampton played extremly well and deserved the win but I think that they were lucky to be playing a below par utd. Manu weren't much better against wolves either but things should improve soon enough.

Was it a cup match that I missed ?? Or was it the similarities that made you think that Sunderland rather than Southampton were playing United.

Petes a closet utd supporter really either that or he has the misguided opinion that Utd supporters will go easy on liverpool when blackburn beat them:D

I think we missed Ferdinand yesterday, also Djemba needs to work on his passing. Ole wasnt playing aswell and we all know how bad Forlan is. Two week break should do us some good , Allthough i think Arsenal have a tough 8 games ahead of them

    13 H PORTSMOUTH
    17 H INTER MILAN
    21 A MANCHESTER U
26 H NEWCASTLE UTD( why is this a friday night game ? )
    30 A L. MOSCOW
    4 A LIVERPOOL
    18 H CHELSEA
Tue Oct 21 A DYNAMO KIEV

Knowing Arsenal they'll still have maxium points from them, apart from against us of course :)

We'll have to play a wee bit better than our last two games.

Maybe they will go easy on me - if I come out of the closet. No, wait - that would only merit a more severe vilification.

Anyway, not sure I follow your logic. United were poor and Southampton played well, that's just how I saw the game. I'm sure whatever way I see the pool - blackburn game united fans are bound to find fault there somewhere.

    Logic means nothing to Muppets.
If Liverpool play like they did against everton you may have me eating my words next week. Wouln,t you enjoy that.

Would prefer ya to shut up but eating your words does run a close second. :D

Utd played terrible. Deserved to lose.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,267 ✭✭✭p.pete

Muppet, you don't have to eat your words for my benifit - I prefer to call games as I see them and if you want to do the same that's fair enough.

Pool played well against Everton and in parts it was the best I had seen from them in a LONG time. It is no garantee unfortunately that they will play that way anytime soon, time will tell.

As regards the last united match, unbelievably enough I have a similar point of view to UbahOne - utd player poorer than they are capable of. I am pretty sure United are going to play better pretty soon but I don't see how these kind of admmisions could make me a closet united supporter.

Basically I don't have to give the same kind of reaction to a poor utd performance as a lot of utd fans give to a poor liverpool performance.

    Well Pete,

Rob here, Do ya think pool will finish ahead of chelsea or newcastle this season. That'd be a good bet. newcastle finishing ahead of pool.
We can discuss stakes at the weekend.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,003 ✭✭✭✭The Muppet

I was not serious abut the closet utd supporter pete just ribbing you a bit. From you posts i think you have the same outlook on football as myself so i know you dont mind a friendly dig.

I too prefer to call things as I see them dont post with the sole purpose of annoying anyone.
