    Guinea Pigs are cute.
    Guinea Pigs don't bite.

Bred out over 3000 years (it took the Russians less than 40 years to breed biting out of Silver fox).

So why does an otherwise heathly Guinea Pig bite?

Does the person who wants a Wolf Hybrid like to be proud owner of an attack pig?

Perhaps it is a Ferret with a docked tail. Maybe Cavies sell better than Ferrets. Perhaps "neutering" will soften the disposition?

Could be he has sore teeth.

Our cavies never bit us, ever. Cute weird little creatures. They make the strangest happy noises.

Does he have anything to chew on in his cage?

Has the guinepig had much handling?, one of mine used to bite but after a while and some careful handling followed by bandaging she became the one that doesnt yip in a condescending manner. Or maybe the guinepig just hates you

The lad had just been handling the other male. Duh!

Obviously till a pig gets to know you better you need to wash hands between pigs.

Yes they make LOTS of different happy noises.

One "purrs" a lot when offered dandelion or cucumber. They go "hut hut hut" when exporing new area.

    Clack teeth when angry

Scream for breakfast and evening dinner.

Squeek loudly if they see you pull out any grass or dandelion elsewhere in Garden.

    They chirp at each other.

One female has sung twice. Cavy song is VERY rare, most people have never heard it or even know it exists. It sounds a little like a blackbird. The others freeze for the 1 to 3 minutes of the song. The singer is reported to seem confused after, as our piggy was after.

We have 5 female and 4 male in 3 runs outside. Also a small run/cage for house / garden and a set of 4 clip together fences for a supervised paddock.

Some *do* bite, but it is very rare.

Have u thought about the possibility that maybe he has a sore spot, that maybe makes him grumpy or hurts when handled?
Maybe a trip to the vet to check.

Also, gloves can be a great way of teaching any new animal that handling can be fun, marigolds are great, most animals hate the taste of rubber (with the huge exception of ferrets, who love the stuff!) ;)

Been OK since so it must have been the smell of the other male.

One "escaped" last night but we rounded him up this morning.

They arn't really escape artists and get a litttle upset when they can't find the way back to the familar hutch. The main risk is Cat or Magpie. (The Garden is dog proof).
