I think the Thrills are one of the best new bands to appear this year. Their album "So Much for the City" is quite brilliant - especially the three singles they've released from it so far (One Horse Town, Big Sur and Santa Cruz).

As regards pop/r'n'b stuff, Beyoncé's addictive "Crazy in Love" is pretty funksome - (and the video for it is quite breathtaking too).

Um... apart from that... well I've been listening to a lot of *old* stuff recently...

Santa Cruz is good, the rest of them suck donkeys testicles
I hate that one horse town track, his accent annoys the fuk outta me. i hate that sort of dublin accent, its so whiny sounding

My fave song - 2+2=5 by radiohead cuz ur not payin attention

I heard a BBC live recording of The Darkness doing 'street spirit' by Radiohead- It was BRILLLLLIANT and for anyone who knows anything about singing - he sings it an in the same key but an octave higher - even the chorus!!!! ridiculous! The band play it much heavier too -very iron maiden sounding except less serious!

I also got that free playlist CD in HMV with a song by BellX1 called ' In every sunflower ' Paul Noonan wrote it for that girl from no disco who died -they were mates- and played it at the meteor awards last year. Its sad but good!

The Flaming Lips - Thankyou Jack White, for that fibre optic Jesus that you gave me.

Does that song have a proper name? and has it been released? pure class.

It can be found on the seven track "Fight Test" by The Flaming Lips and is called "Thank You Jack White (For The Fiber-optic Jesus That You Gave Me)".

Still have to wait another few days for it's actual release but nevertheless...

    The Frames - Fake

Queens Of The Stone Age - Go With The Flow. Every time I hear it come on, I just think "Woo-hoo".

Although AFI's "Girls Not Grey" was bloody good, as was Biffy Clyro's "Questions And Answers".

    'Mon the Biffy!

In Da Club without doubt. 50 Cent may be at times a laughably bad lyricist but this is a classic of a track, with possibly some of the best beat since the mid 90s.
Apart from that(presume this only applies to singles or soon to be released singles)
Fatman Scoop-Be Faithful(this will be big -tis already getting alot of club play)
Drunkenmunky-E(its been around a while but was only released lately)
    DMX-Where the Hood At
White Stripes-Seven Nation Army(not really a big fan but thats a good song)

The funny thing is, it's right beside a song called 'Love Is Just A Feeling' ^_~

I would say anything released by The Flaming Lips, only, I don't know what, if anything, was released off Yoshimi this year. 'Fight Test'?
