The N2 South of Ashbourne (The Forgotten Road)

    How many of you use the N2, especially the section from Finglas to Ashbourne? It's getting increasingly worse yet I have yet to hear anything in the media or anything from Brennan about it being improved. There are plans for an Ashbourne Bypass but this has been put on the long finger. The volume of traffic on this road is one of the highest in the country but still nothing is done. I've lost count of the amount of accidents, especially around the Coolquay area and a lot of these accidents can be attibuted to the seriously bad state of the road. I spend more time avoiding potholes than concentrating on what's in front of me and this would be the case for a lot of drivers. Heavy Goods traffic is huge too which is only making the roads worse. So, what are your thinkings on this topic?

    I know all about these. However, the Ashbourne bypass has been at that stage for a long time now and there hasn't been any movement on it. We can hardly wait till the bypass is finished and put up with the shoddy road in the meantime.
