    Right,

    Fresh install of xp pro, machine boots, use keyboard to set boot from cd and begin install, asks for name / cd key etc, keyboard wont work[tryed 2 other kb's, same]......

    3 rebots later still same, grab a usb keyboard and get it all installed np. Now, gave back usb as guy really needed it and have to get trusty ps2 going. Booted into safe and same story, can use keyboard till windows itself beings to load. Removed all unnessesary hardware and same. Help : )

    Sounds like something with the BIOS/motherboard.

    can u use the Ps/2 keyboard in the bios?

    if so it's something wrong with windows
