Alliance Francaise evening classes any good?

It has come to that time of year again, when I am thinking of doing another evening class in French. I have done a couple of the community college classes in the past, but was not wildly impressed. Anyone done the Alliance Francaise course, would they be of higher quality? Any other recommendations?
