    Hello all

I am selling my car (Seat Ibiza 1.9D).
    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?s=&threadid=113309

It is the first time I have ever sold a car.

Can anyone recommend ideas on how to sell a car worth about €1500 - €2000?

So far I have advertised in the following:

    Local paper (classified section)
    Buy & Sell
    Boards.ie (for sale forum)

Anyone got any other ideas for example auctions etc.

Also when you find a buyer then what, how do you transfer over ownership?

You've done the obvious stuff...so apart from being persistant
and not getting depressed if it does'nt fly off the driveway the
only other thing you could do to get interest is to take some pix with a digi camera (or scan regular pix) and make them availible to would-be buyers- see here for example -

in my Buyand Sell ad I included the following- E-mail me for pix.
I had several follow-ups (after the car had already been sold!)

Something you could do is place ads on local supermarket noticeboards (most small town ones seem to have them)

Dont bother with auctions you wont get the price you're after.

As for the documents, simply fill out the new owners details on the ownership "log-book" paper RF101 and send it off to the address which is in Shannon, County Clare

    Mike.

    Thanks for the reply.

Your idea about the picture is good as is the supermarket option.

I will look at both straight away.

Anyone else got other ideas or experience in this area.

Advertising cars for sale on boards.ie

    Which forum is best?

    Classifieds > For Sale
    After Hours > Motors

Ask Neil, our esteemed moderator for a sticky. I sent him a PM about this subject last week (he must have forgotten about it! ;) )
On the general for sale board it'll be on page two in no time, you'll have to keep "bumping" it!

    Mike.

ps I've had another 2 enquires today about the Corsa so my approach seems to work.... :)
