Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

My girlfriend is taking me to see my team Blackburn Rovers at Ewood park but Ive never been to a Premier league match before.

What stand should we book tickets in?
Like, the family stand or whatever?

I was in Ewood in 1999 in the away end, Called the Darwin end or something like that. There was a great view from it. Seeing as you are Blackburn, then the Stand behind the goals at the opposite end of the ground was filled with noisy home fans. It seemed grand for atmosphere. The main stand is the Jack Walker and was a bit less noisy. HAve you tried the Blackburn Rovers site? They are bound to have better info thatn a one time visitor!

How would one go about acquiring one of these rare species.

    ha ha ha ha ha!!!

she's actually not into football at all

she's taking me 4 my 21st cos i took her to paris and museums etc (zzzzzz!) for hers.

Although i have her saying 'did WE win?' when referring to rovers games so progress is being made!

Funnily enough, my old gf was big into football, knew more than i do and probably more than alot of you guys about the game and esp. ManU.

To be honest its a novelty that soon wears off!

Certainly not all its cracked up to be, going out with a chick into soccer that is!

Ah, they usually just talk a big game - ManU fans usually have fairly large gaps in their knowledge, sometimes as big as a 30 year gap:D

    Indeed a good point

like the ones who could tell you the boot size, marital status and cuisine preferances of every sub at a man u reserve game but wouldnt know David Moys is!? They wreck my head!

but nah, in fairness to her, she knew her football

Tut tut, even when a BB fan asks a simple question ye manage to bring bashing the Utd supporters in again.:p lol

To answer ShriekingSheets question, your best bet is to sit in the end normaly occupied by the hardcore supporters,(oppoisite away fans and behind the goal, might be harder to get tickets for this area). The atmosphere will be much better.:)

The family sections tend to be a bit quiet at most premiership matchs.;)

ive been to villa park a few times and the first time i went i sat in a side-on stand wit a great view. Enjoyed it but spent the whole games wishing i was in the holte end!

so my words of wisdom are sit in the place wit the best atmosphere!

    Indeed. Look at the evidence:

    Spion Kop, Anfield
    Gladwys Street, Goodison
    North Bank, Highbury
    Stretford End, Old Trafford
    GAllowgate, St James
    Bebington Kop, Prenton
    Holte End, Villa Park
    South Terrace, Lansdowne
The place in Croke Park that is still terracing, North Hill or something like that etc

All behind the goal and home of the hardcore. Stands to reason as they are cheaper than the halfway line views.
