    It's along the same lines as "Ja mata" (until later) in Japanese, the "ne" on the end is kinda like "isn't it?" or "right?", so it's more or less, "later okay?" or "see you later, right?" I think.

    Pretty much spot on Cloud. "Ja mata ne" is the full form - although it's all slang in the first place. The literal translation ("until again, no!") makes less sense than the slang meaning, it's just a very informal parting, a bit like Salut in French. Variations are "Ja na", "Mata ne" and "ja mata".
