A HomeWorld 2 Demo should be released in bout 2 hours,iv been watching the guys in work testing it and it look's fantastic.The DL is 140MB which contains a tutorial, two single player missions and two multiplayer maps playably over lan and the net.

I'll post a link as soon as it's avaliable,gonna be well worth the DL.

Questions:

Whats the difference between this and homeworld 1, they both look very similar.
Is the AI justa standard moron AI, that cheats on higher difficulty levels, has no tactics etc.


Dont mean to be ragin on it like, it looks ok, but its just more of the same innit??

Alot of it is the same(and thats not a bad thing) but its been enhanced, a hud update(which really helps...and can be annoying in some ways), new units, some of which are just down right nasty if used properly... sub systems, and sub system targeting...a really nice touch that...can blow chunks off of some of the larger ships.

Dunno about the ai...have been playing lan games all night.

Its more enjoyable to play than the original, I believe.

Excellent demo. Music was exactly as it should be.

The first mission was an almost identical copy of the first mission of HW while thats not exactly a bad thing it would have been nice to have a bit of innovation. All it was missing was adagio for strings

Can't wait for it now, only 8 days to go but seems like ages.

I downloaded it the other day but it's not working for me

Specs:
Athlon 1.3
384 SDRAM
32mb Riva TNT2 Ultra
Windows XP Pro

When I go to run it I just get a black screen for a second then it just returns back to the desktop. No error or anything.

I found the error log in the Homeworld2 Demo/bin/release dir or something. I'll attach it. Any help is welcome.

I loved the first one. Can't wait for this. I'd have been happy with just more SP missions for the first one. When is it being released?

I've been asked by a few 56k modem dudes for cd's. I'd love to help everyone out, but It's just not feasible (unless I start a business) to burn cd after cd. I'd suggest you guys check out www.fileplanet.com ($9.99 per cd) or www.filefront.com (probably about $8.00) , you can specify files and they will post them to you.

Would people pay about €5-6 (including postage) for cd's full of downloads of their choice? /moderators. I'm only just curious
