Who remembers Channel D, Independant (sic) Televison for Dublin? It went on the air in 1981 for a couple of months and it was true ****e but it was different...

TV station set up by Radio Nova and the now rogue criminal Chris Carey? 'fraid not Richard!

No, that was Nova TV, which was on the air for four days and prompted the P&T to close Nova down for a week.

Channel D was a joint venture between Dr. Don of ARD and the Big D AM radio pirates. It stayed on the air for 6 weeks in the summer of 1981.

Anyway, you (Dee) should remember TV Caruosel, the TV version of Drogheda's Radio Carousel.

Also, this BB is moderated, so the following word S*** should appear as S***!

    Don't swear now Kids!

Hiya Ritchie, How did you guess it was me?!
Sorry about the confusion. I don't remember it personally, but I did read about it some time ago in a book on pirates.

TV from Drogheda, my word, the world's greatest broadcasting myth; as no TV or Radio signal ever enters or leaves....

I'm just waiting for a 100 GB HD (in my dreams!) so that I can put all my pirate radio tapes on in MP3 format ;-)

Pirate TV? Are there any stations now? Wasn't there one in Cork a few years back?

Can't say I remember that channel myself.

Oh and Cloud, I have a few 100GB HD's lying around gathering dust if you want to throw some of those pirate radio tapes onto them ;)
