Coldplay - 'A Rush Of Blood To The Head' (6/1)
Radiohead - 'Hail To The Thief' (7/1)

Dizzee Rascal gets the prize - never heard of him (maybe that's the way the Mercury folk like it?).

I heard one of his songs on the radio for the first time this morning. It was funny the text messages they were reading out after, ranging from "pure sh2t" to "it's too early in the morning for that rubbish".

It was interesting to hear it and I guess garage wouldn't be everyones cup of tea. On first listen I don't think much of the bloke but hey, it might grow on me.

I thought it was terrible, to be honest. I had to turn the radio down this morning when I heard it because it was doing my head in.

I agree with all of those text messages too.

    - Dave.

You can start a thread if you want....

Would have liked to see Radiohead win it - they really produced the goods on the latest album.

Yeah I heard that Dizzee Raquet on the radio this morning and have to say it was DIRE!

The rest of the album must be amazing if it deserved a prize!

Not necessarily, as a small and very select panel of judges votes for the Prize, compiled of “muso journos” and the like. I think the main criteria for voting for the prize seems to be what style of music in “their” opinions is gonna be big in the next couple of years. You only have to see who’s won down through the years and when they’ve won!
