can you cancel insurance after say 6months and get a refund of the other 6months ? or do they charge cancellation fees etc.?? I'm looking to get a moped for 6months say

That depends on the insurer, but most AFAIK charge a cancellation fee, sometimes a small one, some large enough to wipe out any credit you should be due back.

Really it's a case of check the terms and conditions
