    Hi,

I'm looking for a list of irish computer magazines, and websites (if they have any). I can think of a few off the top of my head but can people fill the blanks... much appreciated!

    pc live - techcentral.ie
    irish computer - irishcomputer.com
    dot.ie - ?

    Thanks,

    Dave

Dot.ie is woeful. I buy it every now and again by mistake when I'm in a train station or the airport and in a rush, and end up kicking myself ten minutes into the trip when I realise that I've done it again, and have nothing to read for the rest of journey. It's just tat from cover to cover. I tried to use it to line the budgies cage once but the budgie wouldn't have it.

I agree with adam, Dot.ie is crap. Infact i haven't read a good irish computer mag. [OFFTOPIC] But i don't buy magazines that much, and when i do they're linux mags. Easons in Tralee has a great selection, stay away from linuxformat though. Yuck![/OFFTOPIC]

Is Dot.ie still selling outside the pail? I went looking for a copy recently and couldn't find it.

I Find computerscope one of the better ones, Dot.ie is total rubbish.

I bought a Linux mag the other day, the cleverly titled "Linux Magazine". I normally don't buy "specialist" magazines but it actually wasn't half bad. Still would've preferred Wired though...

    Never, Tom!!! :D

Thanks for the link buddy. I think that's really it. I found that page before while searching but didn't bookmark it.

Personally, I buy the UK magazines regarding computers and Internet. No real specialised mag in Ireland for the Internet that I would consider good. Usually pick up Internet Works www.iwks.co.uk

Pick up pclive now and again. "Some" good articles in there but the mag is aimed at general SME's. Agree about dot.ie... train situation happened me before, dahamsta.

I haven't read LXF in a while, but I used to find it interesting (especially as there was bugger all else around at the time I started reading) - nice balance of newbie-friendly Perl tutorials etc and server security guides etc for the more experienced. I haven't taken a look at Linux Magazine (didn't like the look of it first time I flicked through it) but I'll keep my mind a bit more open in future.

As for Irish magazines - not worth the cheap paper they're printed on tbh.
