Nokia Mediamaster 260s - will this work in ireland

    As it's a digital satellite receiver, then yes it will work in Ireland. But if you're hoping to record from Sky Digital channels, then you'll only be able to record the free ones like Sky News, TCM, BBC, etc. The rest of them like Sky Sports, which are encyrpted and need a viewing card won't be recordable. A Sky card won't work in a standard digital receiver.

    I checked further on the nokia website and Ireland isn't listed for distribution of the kit. i have emailed the uk&ire distributors and will reply here if i get an answer.

    AFAIK, Electroplus in Dublin are Nokia agents so worth maybe giving them a ring

    the uk and ire distributors have emaileed back to say that the gear is a pan-european receiver but that they have no plans to distribute it in UK (and Ire).

    I guess that leaves open the option of importing it from 'the continent'.
