    Hey everyone,

I have just returned from Thailand recently and as it happens I did something pretty stupid over there while under the influence of drugs and alcohol....(no excuse I know but that makes no difference now) - I had totally unprotected sex with a couple of girls (at the same time) and I'm really worried that I might have contracted something (HIV being my worst fear). Could anyone offer me some advice as to where I can go to get tested for free in Dublin(or a small fee) as I'm not exactly rolling in cash at the moment due to holiday debts etc....

Any advice or information would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

I'm pretty sure the Mater has an STD clinic, otherwise you should be able to get a test through your GP. No idea of the costs though. A quick search of boards might reveal more info.
    Does Lisa know about it?

yes the Mater does have a clinic and you should get yourself down there asap! you're doctor will not do the tests but can also refer you there - do it today!

St James's hospital also has one:

STD tests - Free STD tests are available from the clinic at St James's Hospital, tel: 014162315/01-4162316 for more information

did I mention you should do it today?

The "Charter / Useful Links tends to have info like that....

Maybe "READ ME FIRST" isn't the most obvious of things.

Yeah St James, building 5 or 6 , cant remember which.

You will be waiting about a month or so for your appointment, then you get the results 2 weeks later.

    Thanks guys :)

Nobody needs to tell me that I've been a fool (I know this already!) so I'm glad of the response....

I'm going to get myself down to St James Hospital pronto - it's only a stones throw away from where I live which is super convenient as well! :D

    Cheers.

Er... No actually! I actually broke with her recently as well

Of course I will tell her in due course and advise her to get tested as well as it's only the fair thing to do....

if you had sex with anyone since your holiday, you are morally and ethically bound to inform them immediately

really and what if it is more then just the clap , something that cant be cured with a set of anti bios ? what if you got HIV from it and end up after your second test in 4 mnth being told well you going to die painfully in about 14 years and ahve to take a huge ammount of drugs every day for the next 14 years ?

Would it still be " Worth it " ?

    that is why I said
"sounds worth a few creepy-crawlies to me"
    and not
"Sounds worth getting any STD to me"
