Somehow you've been very late in contracting the msblast worm.

Click the thread below to get info on how to remove and patch the problem.

It wasn't just XP that was affected, it was 2000 and NT as well. XP (with the crap turned off) is more compatible with stuff and quite a bit faster than 2000.

If you want to download using your own computer and not have it shut down...
    Go to:
Control Panel -> Administrative tools -> Services

Double click on the Remote Procedure Call (RPC) service and change the default recovery behaviour to "Restart the service" instead of "restart the computer"

then you can happily not get shut down when MSBLAST strikes again. Giving you enough time to download patches..

    :)

Either that or wait till it goes to shut down and set your sys-clock back 100 years ;)

    Compared to what?

    Compared to what?

Debian (with a spiffy new 2.6-test kernel) + Gnome :)

    Mmmm.. Quick!

If its so great and XP is so bad it must be able to do everthing better than XP. For example can I buy a Office solution for it that I can script as I can VBA. Can I buy a flight simulator thats as good as IL2. Will my Granddad be able to use like he can XP? No? well that doesn't sound too good.

    :D
