Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I have what seems to be an inflamed disc? with an occasional muscle spasm, and I cannot seem to shake it, I get it from driving or sitting over a desk, not from lifting or throwing lumps of weight.
I have tried chiro, physio, and GP, flexibillity and corestrengthening work, what can I do to firstly right this now, and secondly prevent it in the future?
    Thanks,
    Leo.

    Leo,

Not an Expert by any means but when I was having awful problems with my lower back the best thing I did was go and buy on of this othopedic seats ( the type you kneel into ) poor posture at office desks is normally what is causing your pain. Ig you get one of these seat s you will notice you will sit my upright relieving the pressure on the spin / discs.

KNow Argos do one for 60-70€ althought the cushions are not the best.

    Hope this may help,
    Joey T:cool:

    Hi Leo,

Sorry to hear about your back. I've had way to much experience with similar issues. I think Joey T is right about the neccessity of good sitting posture. I bought a lumbar roll which seemed to do the trick for me although I suffered for about a week until I got used to sitting properly.

In addition I had to do the usual things plenty of stretching and abdominal strenghtening. There ain't any short cuts on this thing. Its chronic for me, but I've got it under control and feel better these days then I have over the past 10 years.

The last time I had sharp spasms in my lower back I tried chiro and physio who suspected things like slipped disks, trapped nerves etc. After a short while, my physio got me to go to A&E to get checked out and it turned out I had a nasty infection. Might be worth checking out.
