    Top 100 challenged books here.

I thought that maybe I'd see Henry Miller or Burroughs or Kerouac in the list, but Harper Lee?? Mark Twain?? Roald Dahl??

    The world has gone crazy.

Depressing reading. No, we can't possibly try explaining to adolescents what's happening to their bodies. Let them believe all sorts of crazy old wives' tales instead! Grrrr...

"Didn't firemen prevent fires rather than...
"Oh please Montag...we don't need books anymore. We have Fox News, Jackass and a fresh, original Reality TV shows. The President feels that books are offensive to the literarily-challenged."
"Literarily- is that even a word."
"The President said it- it must be."
"Does that mean people who can't read? Or who don't want to read?"
"No no no, we can reed- taht's y we hav teh internet- LOL!

I've never seen the point of censorship- anything portrayed in books, films, TV, music and video games is nowhere near as violent or ugly as the real world- or are they trying to censor that too?

This site has a lot of links and references about the whole book banning/censorship situation in the US.
    Librarians Are Corrupting Kids

It would be hilarious if it wasn't so depressing.
