Win2k server replication

I'm trying to replicate a dfs in windows 2000 server. However when I right-click the dfs root in the DFS snap-in, replication is greyed out. No matter what I try it's not giving me the option to replicate the dfs, its always greyed out. Anybody know why???

you got the dfs service running ?
theres a few services it requires
