    Well, 450 PII and a TNT not withstanding I miss my d_mipcapped brown.

    So Here it is.
    r_picmip 20 and restart the client.

    I wouldnt know, I havent been outside since early '96.

    As for teh sky, MAKE SURE you turn it off, its a MASSIVE frames killer (8-10 fps!!!)

    as for showing the fps,use

    cg_drawFPS 1

    Jaysus whatya mean where's the colour gone. If I had graphics like that on my ols Spectrum I'd be well impressed. By the by you can turn off sky in the normal menu of the game.
    As it is I can live with all effects turned on with my new PIII450, 128meg RAM and voodoo3 card.
    Did I mention I got a new PC......

    All settings have a default.
    Type r_picmip and it will say something like

    **
    r_picmip is 20 (default:1)
    **

    so you just set it back to the default (which I believe it 1)

    Adra, the idea IS to get rid of the textures so that the game runs faster.

    You can change the sky from the menu, but
    r_fastsky
    is the toggle command.
