Palm m515 problems

When I try synchronising my Palm m515 with my laptop using hot sync I get the following error message: "HotSync operation was interrupted. Some of your data was NOT backed up...." Anybody seen this problem before? How did you overcome it? It seems to synch with a PC I have so I believe it must be the laptop. The cradle is…

It seems to synch with a PC I have so I believe it must be the laptop. The cradle is connected to the laptop using the serial port. There doesn't seem to be anything else using the serial port.
