Which companies are best for insuring sports cars? Are there any specialists in Ireland that cover this market?

All of the online quotes will not give me any results ;(

I've got my M3 insured with St Pauls - you'll need to go through a broker though, cost will as usual depend on your age...

What are you thinking of buying?

The 3 litre BMW Z4 (deposited and ordered) - im only 25 though, so i expect to take a big hit on the insurance.

I really hate ringing spending 15 minutes on the phone, and then being told 'nope we can't insure you'.

I suspect that unless your no claims bonus is high you are going to pay maybe 4 or 5K for the Z4 but who knows! I get my insurance through Aon - 01 7037400.

Nice car though , big improvement on the Z3...

    Gilly

Mine is through Allianz, though ST Pauls would be cheaper, the level of cover is a lot lower. Talk to a broker because very few companies are going to quote you voluntarily.

I suspect if you can get a quote ( and yes legally they will eventually have to) you'll be in the 5 figure sum territory.

Let us know how you get on, and the details of your driving experience, NCB, years etc

Call First Ireland in Phibsboro. They deal with a company called ARB who are part of the llyods group, sometimes they are rubbish, sometimes good. They insured me on my old MGF for half the price of St Pauls when I was 25 as well.
