Joining COMPSOC

OK; Who wants to join COMPSOC?

Just to get an idea of how many people are joining, even before we advertise on the clubs/socs day. Also so we can say we have X amount of members on the day... ww)

Also, who goes to the library people to ask for permission to use A307 as the COMPSOC room?
I'd go, but I think Francis would have to go, as he's the President this year.

Finally, should we open the compsoc a wek early, or something, to make sure the games work, so when the n00bs join, it'll be running, and thus no intrest will b lost.

hey jerry!!

the president needs to go to computer services cos he needs to sign a letter and **** saying that nothing unlawful will be done etc. well thats what i had to do with fergal!! maybe it changed last year!! i would suggest getting the room and the accounts and games checked asap!! as you said ppl loose interest if your doin nothin or waitin on some1 to get a game to work

Yup. And to think my lappie was partly responsible for some of the 30/40 or so ppl that joined!!! Ah it makes me all warm and fuzzy inside!

i joined the music society and got a free key ring from sheriff o'guevaras, so there!!!

ps what happens now if the techies say we cant have the room? did that cross any1's minds? we should make up a "study society" that studies maths or sumtin in room A313 where all the monitors are turned away from the door so we can play games but if any1 walks in they cant see. mwah ha ha etc.......

The music society sucks ass. The gear seems crap. I was gonna join it last year until I realised my stuff is way better!!!

no i only joined it 2 get the keyring! all i had b4 was 2 keys by themselves!! wat gear do they have? i didnt even look!!

ive got a mexican fender strat and a trace elliott 15 watt amp so probably better than my stuff! oh wait, i also have a Boss DS-1 Distortion pedal!! so there!

That depends, I don't mind playing games, but for christ sake leave the lights on, I know you guys might want to d/l porn and **** in a nice dark corner, but that's what zip drives are for!
Having the lights off means you can't see what keys your pressing when playing games and gives an air of weirdness to the whole club, isolating new members with yer weird ways!

) turned them off last time as he was using the projector to play but other than that they shud be left on as like spacedog siad easier to play..

i think we go for lights on this year as my eye sight is getting bad and im told thats from bein in the dark all the time

The lights were off, as most of the games are dark, and the lights cause bright reflection on hte monitor.

Also, the_syco is pronounced the psycho.

lights bad enough as it is normally, in regards to games they ruin them.

... For those of you who don't know where keys are, use IRC some more, and ye'll know where every key is ... really isn't that hard to cop on where keys on, esp if only using a few [as most games do] .... so either yer keyboard conf is so wrong that you should be shot, or you just need to IRC more!

Now that I'll be usin my lappie I'll go to the trouble of settin up the contorls to have most function on the mouse. Makes it easier imho.

**** that, default quake controls are the best with one or two changes.

mouse to aim and fire. what more could you want?
also number keys binded to weapons and auto change of weapon turned off.
and whoever ****ing changed the quake controls to

i was doing a Report on "Whats the 'next big thing' in computer networking", thats done.

Now, i have to type up a Project Plan for the Year long project i have!
