Guys I'm looking for a pair of Focus Headlights - 2000 (older focus version). I've been to a few car scrapyards around Long Mile rd but none of them have focus headlights....

I don't want to buy off Ford cause they rip me off with the amount they are charging

    any help appreciated

Have you checked to see if you can get them from a motor factors (e.g. East Coast Car Parts, Greenhills Rd.) ?

Try Kilcock Car Dismantlers, Laragh, Kilcock and Doyle Car Dismantlers, Saggart.

Might also be worth seeing if you can get them from a specialist Ford supplier in the North or UK.

Ring Traynors in the north - 04838891242. AFAIK they deliver all over Ireland and have bits for most cars at reasonable prices. Another place up there is McCoys - 04830888769, not sure if they deliver tho. I've got parts from both places for less than half what you'd be paying here.

I recommend Traynors also. They have plenty of parts and don't rip you off. Also they're actually helpful, whereas the attitude of many of the scrappies in Dublin seems to be one of "feck off and don't be bothering me".

I'm still looking for a pair of headlights, I got close with the kilcock dismantler, one left headlight unit but there was a big mark down the middle of the unit which was no good

Do you have a number for the Dismantlers in Saggart? and even if you can give me some names for the specialist Ford supplier's would help

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but..

you're gonna have trouble as most cars that are written off or
scrapped have frontal damage and the lights usually are the first
to go on a frontal impact..

I had awful trouble trying to find a front bumper for my mondeo
2 years back.. took me bloody months..

    ando,

I don't have Doyles number to hand - they are listed in the Golden pages.
As regards specialist suppliers in the North or UK, ditto, best bet would be a google search.

Have you priced an aftermarket headlamp with a motor factors ?

There are some very popular parts out there - everyone seems to be looking for the same one as you.

remember looking for a drivers mirror and a rear wiper - any number of left mirrors and front wipers though...

you could try getting lexus style lights they more or less look the same, just a lil more 'white' and shiny - which can be bad depending on the colour of the car.

www.icetronix.com might have them, they will fit em cheep aswell

Getting different lights might not be a good idea - they are getting tougher on misaligned lights in the NCT

    Ando,
You get sorted with these yet???If not PM me the chassis no of the car and Ill see what I can do for you. What exactly is wrong with the lights,If its mis alignment for the NCT then maybe all you need is the headlamp actuator(Adjustment motor)If its a misted up lamp you may be entitled to 2 new lamps under warranty as this was a recall on Focuses(Foci????)when they first came out.

With the chassis number I can check and see if it already got 2 lamps under the campaign.Have you had it from new???If they were already fitted then you`re going to have to buy a new pair.

    Richie.

Hellrazer, there's nothing wrong with my current headlamps. The headlamps I have are on the car since I bought it last year. It had one previous owner (its a 2000). The reason I want another pair is because I want to do some modifcations to the headlight and then have a 'good' pair to fall back on for the NCT.
