I tried to compare my new laptop using the online results browser, but as 3dMarks doesnt support my processor, i cant submit my results and compare.

    Im using-
    Dell Latitude D600
    Pentuim 1.3 Centrino
    512mbs RAM
    Radeon 9000 32mbs Mobility
    XP Professional

This test was run without changing the standard drivers, and without turning off background crap (like MSN Messenger, etc).

    My score was 4850.
    Is this any good?

    Thanks.

Sorry m8's please enlighten me :)

What's the point of running 3dmark tests on laptops? Surely you can't really use them for games properly? Just a quick maky-uppy example with 3dmark 2001 results

    1. Top of the range laptop like the one owned by jesus_thats_gre or CyberGhost brand new costs maybe about €2000

    Result: about 7000 (=crap)

    2. Brand new case with say nforce2, 2*256 pc3200, athlon 2500 and radeon 9600 pro little bit overclocked new costs about €1000 including decent sound system

    Result: about 14000 (=great)

Think of it this way, a Laptops suits our needs more than a desktop.. Might be hard to comprehend that one.

    very nice Shamo!

    is centrino fast?

i mean 1.4GHz of Centrino equals how many Pentium GHz?

    I think it equals about 2.2-2.4Ghz P4.

It's got good battery life too.
Had to send the damn laptop off for a service though, because the motherboard was causing problems so won't get it back for a week or two!

    tis a bit LOL

Seriously, if you have the need to go mobile, a lot could be said for going

    1 Top spec PC €1000
2 1 year old reasonable spec laptop €1000

Unless of course the laptop needs to be top spec as well :(

well as jesus_thats_gre said laptops are great for lan parties!

i don't know how about you guys, but once Inspiron 5150 will be available with 3.06 HT in Ireland, i'm going to get it, graphics doesn't really matter for me, as i don't play games much anymore.(they make me sick!) It has pretty fast RAM 333MHz, and if i want to do some stuff 64MBs is enough for 3ds max.
