    I like DVD-X-Copy from http://www.321studios.com/

I've heard the crowd behind CloneCD have made a DVD version called... *drum roll* CloneDVD ! http://www.elby.ch/en/products/clone_dvd/

I haven't check it out, but CloneCD was one of the best CDR programs out there, so based on that experience CloneDVD should be great.

You cant use alcohol to copy css encrypted dvds - all 99.99% of em!!

You first need to rip the dvd to your hdd - use smartripper
then compress, convert whatever u wanna call it to 4.36 gigs so itll fit on a dvdr - use dvd2one
then use alcohol or my fav record now max or prassi primio dvd to burn back to GOOD media!!
NB all da software in da world is useless if you have bad/crappy discs!!

good automated software - truly 1 click but expensive and it puts a crappy fbi warning on the start of your disc (removable) which i hate

Try DVDshrink, I think it's quite good, it's free and has a nice interface, how did u get on with the other software?

i downloaded the smartripper first and then downloaded dvd2one both very easy to use and quite fast.
    Copied the dvd no problem.

Good stuff - likkle bit jealous tho - when i started out there was no dvd20ne and you had to like 40 odd steps (about 2 days work) to copy a dvd wit menus and extras etc.
    Ah well!!

just curious............im about to dip into the dvd burner world, an would just like to ask a question first.

will any of these progs allow you to actually clone a commercial dvd (ie. a movie u legitimately bought )............. for say backup purposes, or is there copy protection on the disks.
