Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

this guy is a great talent, such a shame he may waste it all

"Wales and Newcastle soccer star Craig Bellamy was fined today for an incident outside a nightclub.

The striker was 'fuelled by drink' when he tried to get into the club after it had closed its doors, Cardiff Magistrates' Court heard.

Bellamy, 24, admitted using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour.

A charge of using threatening, abusive or insulting words of behaviour which were racially aggravated was withdrawn by the court.

Bellamy was fined £750. His solicitors issued a statement on his behalf in which he apologised for his behaviour but claimed he had been 'severely provoked'.

The statement said: 'Craig Bellamy appeared in court in Cardiff this morning in connection with events occurring in Cardiff several months ago.

'Craig acknowledged to the court that he had used abusive or insulting words or behaviour.

'Craig apologises for his inappropriate swearing and reaction following severe provocation.'

Martin Thomas, prosecuting, said Bellamy went to the Jumpin' Jaks nightclub in Cardiff Millennium Plaza in the early hours of March 24.

Mr Thomas said: 'When Mr Bellamy approached door staff, it was explained to him that new arrivals could not be admitted at that stage.'

A confrontation started and Bellamy tried to push past door staff to get into the club, the court was told.

Bellamy, of Jesmond Park Mews, Newcastle, was pushed down the stairs leading to the club.

'He continued to shout from the bottom step towards the staff,' said Mr Thomas.

'Mr Bellamy became involved in exchanges with members of the public who had observed this incident. By that stage, a crowd had gathered to watch what was happening.'

Some witnesses were using abusive and obscene language towards Bellamy, said Mr Thomas, and the footballer was using abusive and insulting language himself.

Bellamy left the scene in a taxi when police arrived. He later voluntarily surrendered at a police station to be interviewed. "

What is the point of fining someone who earns 30,000 quid a week 750 pounds?? It's not like he'll be hard pushed to pay it.

Anyway, as a Newcastle supporter I obviously think Bellamy should bloody well knuckle down and start scoring more goals and hitting less people he doesn't like the look of.

It's mainly symtomatic of the 'young man with more money than he knows what to do with' syndrome I'd say.
