Wireless for a dell laptop - internal or pcmcia?

I've recently bought a dell laptop, but didn't get the dell truemobile 802.11b/g minipci card with it. If I go for the dell one, there are antennae built into the laptop you connect to the card. If I go for a pcmcia card, how will the antenna on that compare to the ones already in the laptop? I'm thinking I'd be better off…
