Has anyone noticed the following full page ad in the Ireland On Sunday paper ?
(prices in euros of course :) )
    * MALE FEMALE
    AGE Country City Country City
    18 2,098 2,326 1,256 1,500
    20 1,411 1,565 812 970
    22 880 976 449 536
    26 587 651 336 401
    30 384 426 330 341
    40 334 370 328 335
    50 330 336 325 330

*All quotes are indicative and will change with circumstances/Based on full licence/A full no claims bonus possible for each age group/a Peugeot 206 GLX 1.4L Engine/Third party fire and theft policies/A car valued at €8,000/Quotes will vary according to region/a deposit may be required.

Just wondering has anyone actually attained anywhere near these quotes recently or is it the case of misleading advertisement ?

    Im 20 and got a quote of 4200 on a 1.4 206 worth E7000.

I seen that ad last week in sunday world, so based my quote on that car. So there saying if i have 3 yrs NCB (which is the max u can have at 20) and a full Licence they`ll quote me 1565. Hhhmmmmmmmm, i doubt it.

Interesting to see if any1 got these tho

Just got the lastest quote for renewal from quinn direct. 1400 this year, for me (25 yr old male, 1 yr NCB, Full licence for 1 yr) and 1 named driverr (25 yr old female, provisional licence, named for a year on the same policy) . Not bad considering last year was 3072! Oddly hibernian were over 1500 by myself, and nearly 1900 for both of us. Ah well, back to qunn direct...

I just called quinn-direct and I was offered a 5000€ quote for 1.0 micra. third party and theft only. I am 27/ provisional /0 yrs ncb

    wtf is that about ?

I think they wanted to send the message: we don't want you as a customer....

then why did they mentioned in the advertisment that provisional holders are welcome ?

Ah but you are welcome once you pay what they've quoted you!

    Off-topic Stupid question time:
Why can't the government step-in and offer insurance (if the insurance companies are the problem) or change the compo laws (if that's the problem) or both?

I entered my details (Male/25/4 years NCB) for that particular example of car and got €1,032.16, so I guess they are talking ****e.

I took the liberty of entering the same details they gave in that ad for the 26 y/o male, city, full NCB and got this €722.32, considerably more than what the ad claims.

Isn't this false advertising or something?
