    hey just wondering does anyone know of any free dvd decoder software that works under windows 2000. Since i upgraded my OS, software cinemaster dosent work anymore.

    The latest version of Windows Media Player plays DVDs.

    Actually robo you need another DVD player like winDVD or Power DVD on your machine for Windows to play DVDs.

    Have you lot never heard of VideoLAN? And WMP is pants.

    The reason WMP does not work without another software player is that Microsoft will not distribute a MPEG codec. To make WMP play DVD's you need to download and install a MPEG codec.
    On this page there are several free ones.

    See item listed as "Free DVD Filters". This will do the job nicely.
